William Charles Armstrong, born January 25, 1936, went to be with Jesus and his beloved wife of 20 years, Jean, on May 19, 2018.
Bill served in the US Army in the motor pool from 1961 to 1963. He also served his community as an ambulance driver in his youth. He was an active member in local clubs such as the Rotary Club, FL Railroad Museum, FL Coast Guard Auxiliary, Loyal Order of Moose, Chamber of Commerce, UF Gator Band and the FL Plumbers Association. He left a legacy within the Bradenton community taking over his father's business Armstrong Brother's Plumbing in 1970 after earning his master plumbers degree from UF. He operated his father's business until it was acquired in 1991. As an avid train enthusiast he loved to take his great grand children on train rides along Florida's historic Parish Railroad as well as taking many train trips all over North America.
He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Armstrong, son Charles Armstrong and wife Dana, grandchildren Niki Woods and husband Ben, Darek Armstrong and wife Cristina and their children Colette and Jeanette; son Duane Bridgman and grandchildren Mary Jean Bridgman, Andrew Bridgman and Robert Bridgman.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Ellenton United Methodist Church, and Florida Railroad Museum.
