William Carlyle Willingham

William C. Willingham retired from the Human Race on September 27, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Bobbette, three sons, Gary (Becki), Greg (Christina) and Robert (Traci) with two Grand-daughters and a Grandson plus one Great Grand-daughter.

Bill was born on the 4th of July 1948 in Bradenton and spent his whole life in Manatee County. He had two older sisters, Mary and Peggy and a younger sister, Jane. He always said he had a PHd, a Palmetto High diploma. He married and began his career with GTE while also working part time as a life guard for the County. GTE became Verizon and he retired after 30 years. He immediately began his second career in 1997 working on the phone systems for Manatee County Government until he retired in 2007.

His love of motorcycles began in High School with a Honda 50. His favorite cycle was a Honda Pacific Coast and he enjoyed taking it on long trips.

He loved his Grands and was particularly proud to witness Desiree’s graduation from Marine boot camp in SC. He enjoyed watching all of them grow. He will always be with us, watching our lives unfold.
