Vincent Angelo Gannuscio, 72, of Palmetto, Florida, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida
Vincent was born on January 1, 1945 in Passaic, New Jersey to the late Phillip and Dorothy (Stuart) Gannuscio. He served his country faithfully during the Vietnam War by serving with the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Specialist Fourth Grade. During his military tour of duty he was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and M-14 Marksman Badge. Following his military service he worked in the sales field from which he retired. He was of the Methodist faith and has been a resident of Palmetto since 2014 coming here from Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years, Michele Gannuscio in November of 2016, and is survived by his son, Vincent Gannuscio of Bradenton, daughter, Antonia Krekelberg and her husband Toby of Phoenix, Arizona, two brothers; Phillip Gannuscio of Las Vegas, Nevada, Steven Gannuscio of New Jersey, one sister, Antonia Hoodiman and her husband James of Las Vegas, Nevada, three grandchildren, George Hachtel of Bradenton, Florida, Charmane Hachtel of Phoenix, Arizona, Cody Krekelberg of Phoenix, Arizona, great-grandson, Derrell Hachtel-Brown of Phoenix, Arizona, and many extended family members and friends.
Private family services will be held at a later date at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia where he will be laid to rest with his wife with full military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery.
