Vasken Serge Minassian
Vasken Serge Minassian passed away on February 15, 2022 at Hospice House, in Bradenton, FL. He was born on December 18, 1927 to Sirarpi (Ghazarian) Minassian and Leon Minassian in Providence, RI. Vasken grew up as a first-generation Armenian, and attended Stuyvesant High School in NYC. After Serving in the Navy during WWII, Vasken attended Georgia Tech and graduated with a Industrial Engineering Degree. He worked for several large companies, including Fairchild and the Space Shuttle Program, working with Wernher von Braun and help develop the 1964 World’s Fair Futuristic Monorail. Vasken was very proud of his Armenian Heritage and upon moving to Bradenton, was an active member of St. Hagop Armenian Church. Mr. Minassian was preceded in death by his first wife Doris (Semerjian) Minassian. He is survived by his loving wife Karen; daughter Donna Minassian Whipps (Harold); Grandsons; Robert Michael (Lauren) Crigger; Christopher Lawrence Crigger, and granddaughter Summer Nicole Morin (Josh) and many Cousins. Services will be held at St. Hagop Armenian Church in Pinellas Park, FL with visitation in the Church Sanctuary from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Services at 11:30. Private, family only, Burial will be held Friday at Sarasota Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Shannon Funeral Home in Bradenton, is in Charge of Funeral Services. The services will also be live streaming on the Church FB page.
