Susan Theresa Gallo, 71, passed away under hospice care at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center after a struggle with cancer. Born in Baltimore Maryland, and after living in Annapolis Maryland for close to 40 years, she and her husband Paul recently moved to Lakewood Ranch Florida.
Susan worked as a master teacher in Anne Arundel County for 33 years teaching English, Composition and American and British Literature. Starting at George Fox Jr. High, and later at Broadneck Sr. High as English Department Chair. She had the respect of her students and colleagues. After her retirement, Susan took a position at Baltimore’s Goucher College advising students on their graduate theses.
Susan was an animal lover and loved her many dogs and cats that she owned throughout the years. Conner and Stevie her standard poodles will miss her. Susan was an avid reader. She had many interests and was very creative and had a passion for crafts. She loved to entertain family and friends. She also loved spending time at the beach. Susan and her husband loved to sail on the Chesapeake Bay.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Paul, her sister Barbara Gallo, her sister-in-law Karla Ruhl, family and countless friends.
