Steven Daniel Hatter

Steven Daniel Hatter, of Bradenton died early Wednesday, September 25, 2019. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 16, 1972 to Ruth Schappacher Hennessey and Dannie Hatter.

He is survived by his two sons, Tyler (Mamie), of Chicago and Trevor, of Cleveland. Also surviving are his mother, Ruth Schappacher Hennessey of Parrish; his sisters, Shelly (Darren) Askew of Bradenton and Denise (Richard) McLellan of Lakewood Ranch; his brother, Jason (Kellie) Hatter of North Port; his nephews, Cole McLellan and Ryan Askew, his nieces, Emily Sadler, Morgan Sadler, Megan Askew, Courtney McLellan & Cassidy McLellan; and many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins from both the Schappacher and Hatter families.

His father, Dannie Dee Hatter, his grandparents, Irma and Harry Schappacher and Doris and Arnold Hatter, and his nephew, Cameron McLellan preceded his death.

Steven was a long time resident of Bradenton, FL where he grew up going to Orange Ridge Elementary School, Bradenton Middle School and Southeast High School.

Living the majority of his life in Bradenton with his family and friends, Steven was trained in diesel mechanics and enjoyed working on cars and trucks. Throughout a period of ten years he lived in Cincinnati and in Georgia, and for a few years he was employed by a circus franchise to be their mechanic. Traveling the countryside, he enjoyed those years immensely, he spoke fondly of the beautiful places and felt fortunate to have had those experiences. Steven also had various general and skilled laborer jobs throughout his life. He was a landscaper, a painter, a tile layer, and a general handy man for Veranda Springs retirement community. Steven was an excellent, dedicated worker who was very knowledgeable and experienced in most home improvement repairs and had a work ethic second to none. Steven was known for volunteering his time and talents to help anyone who asked and needed help.

Steven had compassion and respect for every person he met and shared time with, no matter their battle, path or choices in life. He had a kind, genuine soul. He enjoyed listening to hard rock music, watching movies, and hanging out talking with friends and family.

There will be a Memorial Mass for Steven at St. Frances Cabrini Church @ 10:30 am on Thursday, October 3, 2019, 12001 69th St. E. Parrish, FL 34219. The family will receive guests following the mass at Veranda Springs Club House, 9810 US-301 Parrish, FL 34219.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Centerstone of Florida Inc, Mental Health America or National Alliance on Mental Illness.
