Sharon 'Cherie' Armstrong

October 15, 1940 — March 15, 2018

Sharon Armstrong, 77, was born October 15, 1940 and was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. She passed away on March 15, 2018.

She was better known by everyone as “Cherie.”

Cherie is survived by one sister, Katy S. Maginness, six nephews, four nieces , four great-nephews and 3 great-neices.

She was predeceased by her son, William H., parents, Wallace, Sr. and Mary E. O’Neill, her brother Wallace O’neill, Jr., her three sisters, Ella Maginness, Mary Taylor and Margaret Starling, and her three nephews, John D., Michael E. and Wayne W. O’Neill.

Cherie lived her life to the fullest and never had any regrets about anything. She retired from Tropicana as a Lab Tech for 35 years. Not being ready to hang up her life, she went to work for the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and retired from there as well.

She enjoyed travelling out west and riding her motorcycle, especially during bike week in Daytona.

Cherie was a member of the Florida Sheriffs Association, National Rifle Association and the GMP Local 208 International Union.
