Ruth Anne Mcdowell

Ruth Anne McDowell, 67, Bradenton, passed away on June 25, 2015.

Ruth Anne was born on October 31, 1947 in Washington D.C. to the late Robert Clark and Ruth (Hampton) Shane. The child of missionary parents, Ruth Anne grew up in Braziel and then lived overseas with her family when her daughter was growing up, and returned to Bradenton to retire a number of years ago. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Lakewood Ranch, and attended Harbor Community Church in Bradenton while living at Casa Mora Nursing Center and Rehab Center, and formerly of First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton where her parents were longtime members.

She is survived by her loving daughter Courtney Towe and her husband Jacob of Jacksonville, Florida, her brother, Rev. John J. Shane and his wife Susan of Cape Town, South Africa, her two darling grandchildren; Eden and Abby, and many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Ruth Anne’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Cornerstone Church of Lakewood Ranch, 14306 Covenant Way, Bradenton, Florida    34212. Private family committal services will take place at Fogartyville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.
