Ruth Ada Leuchars

Ruth A. Leuchars, 83 Bradenton, died June 27, 2017.

She was born February 27, 1934, in Passaic, NJ to parents Arthur and Gisella Harvard. She was a graduate of Montclair High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1954.

Ruth married Ron I. Leuchars in 1956 and later had a daughter Sarah in 1960.

As a family they enjoyed boating for many years where they made lifetime friends at Vikings Marina, Laurence Harbor, NJ. She came with her husband Ronald to Bradenton FL in 1993 from Middlesex, NJ where Ronald retired and Ruth went on to work with Manatee County Sherriff in the Internal Affairs department where she retired in 1999. She spent her time enjoying retirement with Ron and kept very busy volunteering with Manatee County Citizens Review as well as enjoying seeing their granddaughter Morgen Maslo grow into an accomplished young woman.

She was a member of Kirkwood Church in Bradenton FL.

After a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Ruth passed away peacefully at home in the care of her daughter and son- in-law with the support of Tidewell Hospice. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ronald in 2006.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Walter “Bud” Maslo of Bradenton FL, as well as granddaughter Morgen M. Maslo, of Viera FL.
