Ruby J. DeBerry

Ruby Jo DeBerry, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Born and raised in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, she proudly graduated from Laurel Highlands High School, marking the beginning of a life defined by compassion and devotion.

Ruby’s journey through life was marked by her close-knit family ties and affectionate relationships. She was preceded in death by both of her loving parents and had the fortune of sharing her life with two brothers and four sisters. A devoted wife to the late Donald H. DeBerry Sr., she embraced the role of mother with pride, raising two wonderful sons who were the joy of her life.

For the past twelve years, Ruby found happiness alongside Jeffrey Morse in the sunny surroundings of Bradenton, Florida. Together, they cherished moments spent playing darts and dining at their favorite restaurants, enjoying laughter and companionship. The gentle waves at the beach and the pool were her sanctuaries, where relaxation and joyful memories flourished.

Ruby leaves behind a cherished legacy in her sons, Donald H. DeBerry Jr. (DJ),his partner TJ, and Brandon DeBerry. Her heart also extended to her beloved four-legged companions, Cocoa and Snowball, who filled her life with additional love. The joy she experienced as a grandmother was profound, with her three adoring grandchildren—Kadie, Aedan, and Lydia—along with two grandfurry companions, Braxton and Chanel. Each held a special place in her heart.

Throughout most of her life, Ruby dedicated herself to the service industry, ultimately embracing the role of caregiver, where her innate kindness shone brightly. With a heart of gold, she radiated warmth and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her absence will be felt deeply by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Visitation will be held Monday, January 6th from 10am- 12pm, with the Funeral Service commencing at 12:00pm (noon) at Shannon Funeral Home located at 1015 14th Street West, Bradenton Florida 34205.
