Robert Laurence Lovelace was born March 3, 1929 and went home to be with the Lord January 2, 2019.
He is survived by his three nephews; William Lovelace (Helen), Fritz Gutwein (Mary), and Mitchell Hillbrun. He is also survived by five nieces; Gwyn (Jim), Kathy Hilburn, Nancy, Sharyn Salter (Jim), and Nancy Murchie (Bob). As well as many great nieces, great nephews and friends that love him and will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his wife Jewel Lovelace and great nephew Alan Hilburn.
Mr. Lovelace was a native of Florida, born and reared in Plant City, Florida, the son of Reason Carter Lovelace and Virginia Vicars Lovelace. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida.
He was an accountant by profession and was most recently with Meals on Wheels. He was a former member of the National Accounting Association and of B.P.O.E. Lodge 708 in Tampa Florida and held life memberships in Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity and in the East Hillsborough Historical Society. He was a former member of the Bradenton Kiwanis Club.
Mr. Lovelace was active in his church, serving as an Usher and as Deacon for over thirty years in the First Baptist Church of Plant city, Florida. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bradenton, Florida at the time of his death.
Graveside service to be held at Plant City Cemetery, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
