Robert Francis Thaxton

Robert Francis Thaxton, 79, of Bradenton, Florida and Westlake, Ohio, passed away on February 25, 2016 at the TideWell Hospice House in Bradenton.

Robert was born on April 24, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Perry O and Mary (Hart) Thaxton. He worked for many years as a truck driver for the Cleveland Plain Dealer Newspaper in Cleveland. He has been a winter resident of Bradenton for over 30 years. And was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradenton.

Robert was predeceased by a brother Richard and is survived by his loving wife Bertha Ann (Maschari) Thaxton of Bradenton, Florida and Westlake, Ohio, three sons, Robert E. Thaxton of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Brian T. Thaxton and his wife Shannon of Avon Lake, Ohio, Kevin A. Thaxton and his wife Candace of Westlake, Ohio, brother, Patrick Thaxton and his wife Barbara of Westlake, Ohio, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida. Further services and inurnment will take place in Westlake, Ohio under the direction of the McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home, 25620 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Central office of Sara-Mana AA, 1748 Independence Drive, Sarasota, Florida   34234 in his memory.
