Robert Edward Barnum, 66, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Blake Memorial Hospital.
Robert (Carpetbob) was born on June 26, 1954 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Robert Eugene and
Lillian Barnum.
Carpetbob spent his life in the floor covering business. Some do carpet, some do tile, some do vinyl,
but Bob did it all. If someone told him it couldn’t be done, Bob got it done. If there was a flooring
problem Bob was called in to fix it. He sub-contracted for the majority of his career for Aldrich Rug,
which is now known by Ansbro-Aldrich Flooring. He loved his flooring family there including all the
salesmen and fellow installers.
Bob had three loves in his life. His loving wife Debbie, whom he told everyone she was the best
thing that ever happened to him. He cherished her and they lived life to the fullest. His
daughter Ashley Burnett, whom he raised and was the dad he didn’t have to be. He would
buck up to anyone that would dare say she was not his daughter. Then his favorite of all came
into his life, his granddaughter Emma Lee Burnett. She was and always will be “Poppa’s girl”.
Bob is survived by his wife Debbie Barnum of Bradenton. His daughter Ashley Lee Burnett of
Sarasota, FL, his granddaughter Emma Lee Burnett of Bristol, TN. Brothers Steve and
Mike. Sisters Nancy, Pam, Kathy and Gloria. Siblings Deric and Tammy Hines.
