Ray Edward Godbey Jr.

Ray E. Godbey Jr. , 56, of Bradenton, FL passed away on June 16, 2019.

Born on October 30, 1962 to Virginia and Ray Godbey Sr. in Richlands, VA.

Growing up in rural Virginia Ray loved the outdoors and fishing. He was active in the Youth Fish and Wildlife Program as well as the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation.

He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Godbey, Son Brian Godbey (Courtney), Daughter Jessica Bielas (Steven), his Grandchildren that he adored Madison Myerhoff, Dylan Bielas, Alexis, Haylie and Warren Godbey.

Ray will be deeply missed by the friends and family who loved him. Remembering, you can take the boy out of the mountains, but you can't take the mountain out of the boy.

No local services at this time. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to help the family during this difficult time.
