Randal Earl Shiver, 93, Bradenton, passed away Sept. 26, 2015.
He was born December 11, 1921 in Bradenton, to the late Randall Earl and Katie (Tucker) Shiver. He served his country faithful during WWII by serving with the U.S. Navy.
In the early 1950's he moved to Miami and worked as an aeronautical engineer. He worked for Pan Am, Eastern and United Airlines, and later on worked at Cape Canaveral.
In the mid `1980's he moved to Englewood and then in 1999 returned to Bradenton, where he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Usher. He was also a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge #31 in Bradenton, recognized as a 55 year member of the Masonic Lodge, where he previously served as the Grand High Priest with the Masons, member of the Sahib Shrine in Miami, and the Commandery.
Randal was predeceased by his brother James O'Quinn Shiver, and is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Irene (Sanders) Shiver of Bradenton, son, Randall (Kathleen) Shiver of Satellite Beach, Fl., two daughters; Janis Danforth of Chico, CA, Katie (James) Barnes of Eustis, FL, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton with a Celebration of Randal's life to follow at 11:00 A.M, and military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Private interment will take place at Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton in his memory.
