Pené Sue Colbert, 51, Palmetto, passed away unexpectedly June 8, 2015.
Pené was born October 11, 1963 in Hays, Kansas to George and Louise Yvonne Silvanic. She moved to Palmetto in 1976 after her father's retirement from the United States Army.
She was a graduate of Palmetto High School with the class of 1981 where she was very active in the sports program. After high school, she earned an associate’s degree at the former Manatee Junior College. Pené was a 38-year active member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Palmetto. She was the owner and visionary of three Gold Crown Hallmark stores, and was a teacher aide for the ESE classroom at Manatee Elementary School.
Pené was predeceased by her father in 2014 and is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Jeffrey, and was most proud of their daughter, Kemery Jené , all of Palmetto; her mother Louise of Palmetto; brother Mark and his wife Dorothy Silvanic, their children Clara Grayce and George Phillip Silvanic of Monument, CO; mother-in-law, Joy Colbert of Palmetto; and many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Palmetto.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the church. To honor her sense of fun, if you so choose, wear some pink to the service.
