Patricia Ann Gallo

April 21, 1943 — December 15, 2016

Patricia Ann Gallo of Bradenton, passed away December 15, 2016.

Pat was born on April 21, 1943 in Nauvoo, Alabama to Rayola Cummings Garrison and Benford Garrison. She was raised in Kentwood, Louisiana and moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1962 after graduating from Kentwood High School.

She was employed as a dispatcher for the Bradenton Police Department, where she caught the eye of Gene Gallo, who would watch her walk to lunch. Gene worked next door at the Bradenton Fire Department. One day Gene decided to water the roses outside, standing in the way on the sidewalk, so that he could stop her and talk to her. What followed was a whirlwind romance, a few dates and a quick marriage. Gene said he just knew right away she was the one saying 'I'm going to marry her!' to his fellow firefighters. He became her loving husband and they had 54 wonderful years together, enjoying fishing, cheering on the Manatee High School football teams and those of the Gators.

Together they raised two daughters, Cassandra (James) Truan and Darenda (Doug) Marvin and two grandsons Tyler Marvin and Luke Marvin. Pat had one sister, Annette (Luther) Hano, two brothers, Bob (Martha Ann) Garrison and Jamie (Myra) Roberts and a brother-in-law Bob (Jeanette) Gallo. She was predeceased by her mother, father and step-father Roy Roberts.

Pat was an active mother and grandmother who enjoyed nothing more than doing things for her family. She was a homeroom mother, a Girl Scout leader, MHS Marching Band chaperone, a youth football cheerleader coach and an active volunteer at Bethel Baptist Church as a nursery worker and deaconess. Being a grandmother was the greatest joy of Pat's life. She took an active role in their care from the time they were born and remained involved in their activities from their pre-school music programs to youth sport. She was their biggest cheerleader and supporter, never missing an event. She has always been though of one who cared for others over herself.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church, 1805 30th Avenue West, Bradenton.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Youth Group.

Condolences for the family may be made online at www.shannonfuneralhomes.com.
