Nicholas J Intrieri

February 9, 1945 — December 13, 2017

Nicholas “Pop Pop” Joseph Intrieri, 72, of Bradenton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 13th, 2017. Nicholas, known as Nick to many, was born on February 9th, 1945 in Jersey City to parents Peter Earnest and Dorothy Angela (Sardon) Intrieri, as well as brother Anthony J. Intrieri.  In his early years Nick joined the army, was a volunteer firefighter, and also a Christian youth group counselor.  Nick met and married the love of his life, Virginia “Ginny” Bernadette (Grego) Intrieri.  They had three sons, Peter J., Kevin P., Dominick M., and daughter, Nikki A. Intrieri.

While living in Sound Beach near Rocky Point Long Island, he became the head coach and commissioner of the town’s first peewee football league, known as the Rocky Point Bulldogs. Nick led the team to three undefeated seasons and three championship trophies.  Nick could always be found on the sidelines of his children’s games, yelling and cheering them on.  He was the type of man that would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need.  He worked at the Orange County Wastewater treatment plant until he retired.

Nick was a very loving and devoted father and grandfather.  His grandkids were his whole world.  He was tough as a man could be, a proud vet, superman to his loved ones, a Catholic, and his stories were the best.  He was the happiest when he was with family and was very proud to share pictures and stories about all of his children and grandchildren. He loved to talk and share stories about all of the things he did in life. He lived a good and full life, he left a lasting memory on everyone he came into contact with.

Nick is survived by countless family members, many friends, his brother, children, and grandchildren. He is now reunited with his wife, at home in Heaven. In laughter and sorrow, in sunshine and rain, we know he is watching over all of his loved ones, until they meet again.

A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton,Fl.
