Murrie Lee Bumpers, age 79 of Bradenton, FL went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2024. She was born November 14, 1944 in Mobile, AL to the late Willie SR and Geneva Coleman.
Murrie was known to many as "Babysister." As a child she believed in Christ's sacrifice and was baptized at Mount Olive Baptist Church No.2. She married the late Richard Bumpers SR. Murrie became a committed member of the Civil Rights movement in Alabama.
In later years she resided in Reston, VA where she was employed at Lockheed Martin. Murrie decided in her retirement to make Bradenton, FL her home. She joined First Baptist Church of Palmetto where she also attended Bible Study Fellowship. She was passionate about her faith and impacted the lives of many, beginning with her family.
Throughout her life Murrie loved people and was loved by them. She enjoyed times spent with family and friends, traveling, fishing and having seafood at Red Lobster.
