Minnie Stephens, 96, Bradenton, passed away September 24, 2016.
Minnie was born on June 24, 1920 in Lyons, Georgia to the late Sidney Albert and Daisy (O'Neal) Stephens. She has been a resident of Bradenton since 1939.
Locally she was a homemaker and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bradenton where she was a member of the Happy Hearts.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 38 years, Mack T. Stephens in 1979, two brothers J.W. and Robert Stephens, and two sisters, Georgia Jones and Effie Hayes. She is survived by her loving daughter, Myrtle (Dennis) Myers of Bradenton, one brother, Larry (Shelby) Stephens of Lyons, GA, one sister, Sally Jones of Paxton, FL, two granddaughters; Ginger (Chris) Daugherty of Bradenton, Andrea Myers of Jacksonville, FL, two great-grandsons; Kevin Bogdan of Bradenton, Will Hartley of Jacksonville, FL, one great-granddaughter, Lila Hartley of Jacksonville, FL, a great-great-grandson, Logan Bogdan, and many extended family members, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 10-11 AM at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street West, Bradenton, FL with a Celebration of Minnie's life to follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be private at Manasota Memorial Park.
