Matthew Benton Rain

Matthew Benton Rain, 46 of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on April 3, 2017 at his residence.

Matthew was born on May 24, 1970 in Bradenton, Florida to the late Benton Cato III and Dorothy (Connelly) Rain. He was a lifelong resident of Manatee County.

Following his high school graduation he served his country faithfully by serving with the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Specialist. After his military service he returned to Bradenton where he continued his education. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton.

Matthew was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Rain in 1988, his father, Benton Cato Rain III in 2012, and a nephew Collin Andrew Stefanik in 1990. He is survived by his brother, Michael Rain and his wife Glenda of Goldsboro, North Carolina, a sister, Jayne Stefaniak and her husband Jim of Bradenton, and many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 7, 2017 in the North Mausoleum Chapel at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, Florida.
