Mary Ann Jones

Mary Ann McIrvin Jones passed away on Sept. 28, 2024 in Bradenton Florida. Born in St. Petersburg FL in 1927 to James and Unie McIrvin.

 Mary Ann delighted in sharing many wonderful and happy memories of the years that she and her family lived in the Lakeview Hotel in Leesburg, Florida. After attending Dental Hygiene School in Rochester, NY, she thoroughly enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a dental hygienist.

She was a member of Palma Sola Presbyterian Church in Bradenton where she served as an Elder, the American Dental Hygienist Association where she served as Past President as well as the Toastmaster at their conventions, and Zonta International, a service group for professional women.

Mary Ann enjoyed many hobbies including sailing, traveling, golfing, needlepointing, cross stitching, and knitting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and made every effort to attend birthday parties, soccer games, school programs, and graduations. Known for her outgoing personality and ability to talk to anyone, she had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed bantering with her friends.

Mary Ann was the beloved wife of the late Robert Jones, loving step mother to Kathleen (Wesley) Nall and Suzanne Anderson. She cherished her grandchildren Courtney (Chris) Connelly, Ryan (Michelle) Nall, Kathleen (Jonathan) Tomberg, Austin Nall, and William (Jessica) Anderson. She was also a great grandmother to Evelyn and Frances Connelly, Janie and Oliver Nall, Mayla and Nathaniel Tomberg, and Meredith and Hannah Anderson. She is also survived by her nieces Liz Ann Flint, Dorothy Bowers, nephew John Englemann Jr as well as a great niece and great nephews.

Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her beloved sister Bette (John) Englemann.
