Mary Coveris

Mary Coveris (nee: Gallaitis), age 90 of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at her residence.

Mary was born on February 24, 1926 in Gary, Indiana to the late Louis and Dorothy Gallaitis. She was a graduate of the Froebel High School of Gary, Indiana Class of 1945. She retired from the Lake County Government Center in Indiana, and the Macy’s Department Store in Bradenton. She also formerly worked at the Mademoiselle Shop in Gary, Indiana for many years. Mary was an avid bowler and was a member of a local women’s bowling league.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband James Coveris and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Coveris. She is survived by her two sons; Nick and his wife Patty Coveris and Leo Coveris, one brother; Nick and his wife Beverly Gallaitis, one sister; Rose Kakouris, five grandchildren; Anthony, Alexis, Gina, Jennifer and her husband Josh Hayden and Peter Pall, two nephews; Louie and George Kakouris, and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, Indiana with a Trisagion Service to be held at 3:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 8000 Madison Street, Merrillville, Indiana with the Reverend Father Ted Poteres officiating. Committal services will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, Indiana where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband James.
