Marie Franklin

Marie Franklin, 76 of Holmes Beach, passed away February 25, 2017.

Marie was born on November 2, 1940 in Tampa, Florida to the late Bennie and Antoinette Scanio. She was a long time resident of Anna Maria Island at the young age of five years old.

She attended the Roser Memorial Community Church on Anna Maria where she was married in 1960. Marie was the owner of Anna Maria Realty for many years where she started working as a broker when it was formerly known as Blassingame Realty.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years Norman M. in 2015, and a brother Benji Scanio. She is survived by her two daughters; Dina Franklin of Anna Maria and Dawn (Dusty) Bates of Bradenton, sister, Rosemary (Roy) Griscom of Holmes Beach,  four grandchildren; Johnathon, Tiffany, Tyler and Travis, her faithful companion Zion, and many extended family members and friends.

The family invites you to join them for a celebration of Marie’s life at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Roser Memorial Community Church.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs, Paws for Patriots, 4210 77th St. E., Palmetto, FL in her memory.
