Lois Cale Gover, 72, of Bradenton, Florida passed away peacefully on November 16, 2015, after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Lois was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and was the oldest of three children. She is survived by Foster Gover, her loving husband of 43 years and daughter, Megan of Atlanta, Georgia. Lois is also survived by her sister, Nancy of Cincinnati, Ohio and aunt, Irene of Aurora, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Lois was an accomplished educator for 50 years, holding a variety of teaching and administrative positions with the Manatee County School System. She retired from the School Board in 2015, with 42 years of service. Through her unique teaching style and commitment to children, she was able to impact the lives of hundreds of students who fondly remember her as helping them become successful in their careers and in life.
Lois had a contagious smile and loving spirit. She loved cooking, teaching and entertaining and she made difficult tasks seem easy with her energetic can-do attitude. She was a friend to many people in the Greater Bradenton area. Lois was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt who loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. A celebration of life funeral service will follow beginning at 3:00 pm. Private graveside service with be at Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, FL.
