Ligia Pubenza Kirby

Ligia Pubenza Kirby, of Bradenton, passed away on October 3, 2021.

She is survived by her son; Richard West and his wife Robin, 2 daughters; Barbara Wesemeyer and her husband Roy and Kathy Penkwitz and her husband Greg. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 husbands; Richard L. West and Wickliffe B. Kirby.

Ligia was a teacher in Manatee County for 35 years and was named teacher of the year. She was a title one social coordinator for the families of migrant and agricultural workers. She was active at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Ligia was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Order of The Roses.
