It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the family announces the passing of Lawrence A. Storm, 83, Bradenton, Florida, loving husband and father. He peacefully died in the arms of his wife, Kathy, on January 12, 2025.
Larry (Pete) was born on February 10, 1942, in Franklin, PA. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Navy, and upon his return home he married the love of his life. After the birth of their two daughters, they moved to Florida in 1974, where he was hired by the Bradenton Fire Department.
After 24 years as a dedicated firefighter, he retired as Assistant Chief. He then went on to work for Manatee County as a Code Enforcement Officer until 2008.
Larry’s many interests included buying and repairing old cars, making new friends, and always helping those in need. He loved NASCAR, motorcycles and being outdoors working in his yard, but his family always came first.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathryn Harter Storm; daughters, Laurie Lynn Menard (Geoff), and Tracy Lynn Aliotta (Joe); brothers, Norman, Harry A. (Jane) and Jeff (Cindy Beyerl) Storm; grandchildren, Josh (Liz) Menard and Zack Menard, Maria, Rocky and Justin Aliotta; great grandchildren, Jesse, Sally, Sam and Sofia; great-great grandchildren, Benny and Zayden; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Larry was pre-deceased by his mother and father, Georgiana and Harry Storm, brother David, and uncles Lawrence, Perry (Neil), Norman and Raymond Wood.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the Bradenton Fire Fighters Association, 1010 9th Ave. W., Bradenton, FL 34205 and Palma Sola Botanical Park, 9800 17th Ave. NW., Bradenton, FL 34209.
A Memorial Service will take place at Shannon Funeral Home, 1015 14 th St. W., Bradenton, FL. on Saturday, January 25 at 10 a.m.
