Karen Heidi Nelson, In the early morning hours of Thursday, May 28, 2015. Karen Heidi Nelson lost her courageous battle with cancer, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Karen was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on August 8, 1959, eventually moving to Bradenton in 1970, upon her father's retirement from the United States Air Force.

Karen was the best mother, wife, and friend, ever, and her love filled our home and our hearts. We will always be amazed at her love and compassion, humor, grace, and understanding. She is truly unrepeatable and irreplaceable.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Nelson; her beautiful daughter, Jessica Smith; loving son-in-law, Cell Smith; many extended family members and friends; and her tribe, Zoe, Sampson, Pyewacket , and Maggie May. We will always love you, and you will live in our hearts forever. May God take you in his loving arms and bless and keep you. We'll see you on the other side.

A private memorial with family and close friends will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to TideWell Hospice.
