Judith Frederica Holter
October 7, 1940 — August 13, 2021
On Friday August 13, 2021, Judith Frederica Holter was called home by Our Father who art in heaven at the age of 80.
Judy was born on October 7, 1940 in Melrose Park, Illinois. She grew up in Bensenville, IL and graduated from Fenton High School in 1958 as valedictorian of her class. The next stop on her life journey was Valparaiso University where she met her husband, Harold, and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. She married Harold on June 8, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church.
She was an active member in the numerous Lutheran churches she attended. She served the Lord and others in several ministries: singing in the choir, assisting in the kitchen, teaching Sunday school and participating in prayer chains. She believed in the virtues of faith, hope and love.
Judy had a passion for cooking, sewing, and puzzles. She was a collector of angel memorabilia, recipes and fabric.
She mastered the art of making new friends and keeping the old. This was very evident at her 50th wedding anniversary celebration in Orlando, FL. She knew how to live, laugh and love.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Harold, her children Deanne (Jack) DiPasqua of Bradenton, FL and Michael Holter of Firestone, CO, her two grandchildren John and Julia DiPasqua, her sister Sharon Williams of Monticello, IL and her brother Steve Martin of Waukesha, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Gladys Martin.
For those individuals who cannot attend in person, the memorial service will be live streamed on the Living Lord Lutheran Church Facebook page.
