Joyce Proveaux

Joyce Proveaux, 87, of Myakka City, passed away February 3, 2017.

She was born on May 20, 1929 in Clewiston, Florida to the late Harry H. and Bidie (Hendry) Phillips. Joyce was a lifelong resident of Manatee County and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hardee County where she formerly taught children Sunday School.

Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Norman H. in 2009, son, Paul, brother, Glenn Phillips and a sister, Sharon Harris. Survived by her two caring daughters; Glenda of Bradenton, Wanda of Palmetto, three brothers; Floyd (Pat) Phillips & Claude (Sue) Phillips both of Myakka City, Jerry (Donna) Phillips of Port Charlotte, FL, two grandsons; Jonathan Turner of Myakka City, Jeremy (Lynn) Turner of Plant City, FL, one great-grandchild, Kora Turner, and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, with a celebration of Joyce's life to follow at 12 Noon at Bethany Baptist Church, 26604 St. Rd. 64 E, Myakka City. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to TideWell Hospice in her memory.
