Joseph George Apoldo (“Joe”), age 56, of Palmetto Florida, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2025.
Joe was born on December 4, 1968, to Louis and Antonia Apoldo in New York, NY. He lived in New Jersey most of his life, growing up in East Brunswick. He attended college at Trenton State University (now The College of New Jersey), graduating in 1990 and taking a job at Computer Associates, where he met his wife, Tricia. They married in 1997 and moved around a bit, ultimately settling in Monroe Township. They had two children together, Joseph (age 24) and Maria (age 21). For most of his professional career, Joe worked as a technical recruiter, helping large companies fill computer-based roles with qualified candidates. In 2022, they moved to Florida, settling in Palmetto, where he enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, dining on the water, relaxing with his dog, and other joys of his new Florida lifestyle.
No matter what he was doing, Joe devoted his life to spreading joy. Whether that was through the music that he played on the drums and later guitar (either solo or in various bands with friends and family), a dumb joke he had heard and retold over and over, or one of his famously never-ending stories, Joe brought happiness and a truly carefree attitude with him wherever he went. He most enjoyed sitting around with friends and family to recap recent events or politics, smoking fine cigars and sampling excellent whiskeys. Regardless of what he was doing, he was always a pleasure to have around. A truly remarkable and loving husband, father, brother and friend, he brought a shining light to every event and pastime he ever attended or participated in.
Although Joe is no longer part of our physical world, he will live forever in our hearts. One thing is certain; that he’ll be missed in the future by everyone who’s life he ever touched in a meaningful way. The sound of his drums will reverberate throughout heaven until the rest of the band comes to join him.
He is survived by his loving spouse Tricia Apoldo (nee Krueger); his children Joseph Edward Apoldo and Maria Apoldo; his brother Louis Apoldo Jr. and wife Veronica (nee Greco), his sister- in-law Sandra McHale (nee Krueger) and husband Paul, his brother-in-law George Krueger, his nieces and nephews Caitlyn Krueger, George Krueger, Michael Apoldo, Christopher Apoldo and Victoria Apoldo and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Antonia Apoldo.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 at Holy Cross Church 505 26th St W. Palmetto, FL, followed by a viewing from 1:00-3:00 at Shannon’s Funeral Home in Bradenton FL.
