John 'Scotty' Cooney Edwards

John Cooney Edwards, 'Scotty'  81, Bradenton, passed away April 12, 2015.

John was born December 29, 1933 in Paisley, Scotland to the late Robert and Jane (Cooney) Edwards.

He moved to Bradenton in 1992 coming from Toms River, New Jersey where he was member of the Scotch American Club in Kearney, NJ. Locally he was retired from Surrey Place where he worked as a maintenance Man for 9 years.

John was predeceased by his four brothers and one sister. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Thomasina (Ballentyne) Edwards of Bradenton, four dear children; Janice (Raffaele) Fabrizio of Brick, NJ, Karen Loricco of Bradenton, John Stuart (Mimi) Edwards of London, England, Brian Robert (Dana) Edwards of Toms River, NJ, 15 precious grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, with a Celebration of his life to follow at 3 P.M.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Tanner Edwards Foundation for Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, 63 Almond Rd, Toms River, NJ   08753.
