John J. Lach, 88, Anna Maria, passed away April 22, 2015.
He was born July 24, 1926 in Detroit, MI to the late John and Anna (Piotrowski) Lach.
John served with the U.S. Army during WWII, and moved to the Island in the mid 1970’s coming from Lincoln Park, MI.
Locally he was co-owner of J&J Graphics Screen Printing on Anna Maria. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Holmes Beach, avid animal lover, and loved boating and fishing.
John was predeceased by his loving wife Gloria in 1974, children; Karen and Larry, brother, Max and sister, Margaret, and is survived by a son, Gary, brother, Walter of Livonia, MI, two sisters; Ann Miedlar and Sophie Bennett both of Redford, MI, close friend and business associate, Joan Carter of Bradenton, many nieces and nephews and close friends and acquaintances over the years.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday, April 24, 2015 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 248 S. Harbor Drive, Holmes Beach with interment and final military honors to follow at Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto.
The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to either St. Bernard Catholic Church, Manatee County Humane Society or Tidwell Hospice in his memory.
