Lt. Col. John Daniel DeForge (Ret), of Bradenton, passed away on December 29,2020.
Born in Ontario Canada to Daniel and Jessie DeForge in 1923.
Lt. Col. DeForge proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the military in 1968, he became a teacher. John taught at Manatee High School for 23 years.
John was a member of Anna Maria Kiwanis since 1969 and The Military Order of the World Wars for over 25 years.
John is survived by 2 sons; Daniel R. DeForge of Tampa and John S. DeForge of Bradenton, 1 daughter; Sandra Lee Efros of Ohio, and 3 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen DeForge.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm with the Funeral Services commencing at 7:00 pm at Shannon Funeral Homes Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave W. Bradenton.
Lt. Col. John D. DeForge will be laid to rest with full honors at Sarasota National Cemetery.
