Jesse Edward Atkins, Jr.

Jesse Edward Atkins, Jr., 82, Bradenton, passed away July 5, 2015. Jesse was born August 12, 1932 in Moorestown, NJ to the late Jesse E. Sr. and Julia (McGann) Atkins. He served with the U.S. Army. During his lifetime he had many pursuits and retired as a real estate agent. He moved to Florida in 1987 coming from Dumfries, VA. He was a member of the Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Lakewood Ranch, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton. Jesse was predeceased by his brother and two sisters, and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane Atkins of Bradenton, four sons; Jesse E. III (Theresa) Atkins, of Bradenton, Joseph (Krissie) Atkins of Fairfax, VA, John Atkins of Washington D.C., James (Lori) Atkins of San Antonio, TX, and seven grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date and time. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church Youth Group in his memory.
