Jennifer Lynn Salem

May 22, 1984 ~ November 17, 2023 (age 39)

The world has lost one of its brightest stars and heaven has gained her. Jennifer Lynn Salem, age 39, passed away in a diabetic coma, after a courageous battle with Type 1 Diabetes. Jennifer truly made everyone feel like her best friend and if you knew her, you’d be able to hear her hundreds of feet away- her passionate expression was one of her signature traits, always greeting others with love, hugs, and “kissys”.

Her heart and care for others was always her biggest priority, often putting those in need above herself. Fashion and style were some of her biggest passions, graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Business, with study abroad experiences in Italy and NYC. At one point she worked for the wedding dress designer- Vera Wang, and eventually, she would switch gears becoming a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor. Helping people not only physically, but mentally, spiritually, and emotionally was her joie de vivre. Usually, a 30-minute session would end hours after, from all the talking she would have with her many clients, who turned into great friends.

Jennifer peacefully joined her brother, Anthony J Salem; and her mom, Eva “the Diva” in a joyful reunion.

She is survived by her father, Anthony M. Salem (Kelly); her siblings, Phillip (Jonathan), Wayra (son Zeke), and Tony (Kallie); her nephew, Anthony “LA” Marble-Salem (Alyssa); along with dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. Her love of life, outgoing personality, and charisma, will not come to an end, as her loved ones will strive to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest and shining bright, ok “boo boo.”

The family will be holding a private ceremony at the end of December in honor of Jennifer. Her friends are welcome to contact her family for more details.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pay it forward this season and make a charitable donation to “Beyond Type 1,” a global non-profit that helps people with the chronic illness of diabetes to stay alive and thrive: www.beyondtype1.org.
