Jeffrey Lee Burdick

November 27, 1951 — May 30, 2020

Jeffrey L. Burdick, 68, of Bradenton, passed away on May 30, 2020.

Jeffrey grew up on a small farm in western Pennslyvania. He met and married Pat, quit his job at the Quaker State refinery and took a three month motorcycle tour west around the perimeter of the US.

They landed in Fl where Pat’s parents were at the time.  He took a position as a first aid responder in Ocala, Fl.  He then moved the family ( they now had Kelly) to the St Petersburg area where he studied and became an EMT for H&H ambulance service. He then accepted an offer for Manatee County an an EMT, studied to be a paramedic and was second to qualify as a State Registered Paramedic in Florida. During this time Kenny became another  addition to the family. He rose in the ranks to shift supervisor and then Chief.  He worked for what became Manatee County EMS for 12 years.  He then moved to West Coast Southern Transport as a Paramedic then Paramedic Manager where he worked for 15 years.  He then worked self employed managing personal rental property. In 2008 he went to work for MEB Property Management for five years until his retirement in 2013.  He spent his remaining years as taxi service and personal care for his 5 grandchildren.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Patricia M. Burdick, of Bradenton, Fl.daughter /son in law; Kelly N. (Chris) Fairbrother, of Bradenton, Fl. son/daughter in law; Kenneth M. (Shameka) Burdick. of Bradenton, Fl. sister; Doris A. (Manley - deceased) Brown, of Eldred, Pa. sister/brother in law; Alice J. (Gerald) Vaughn, of Eldred, Pa. sister/brother in law; Onalee M. (Richard) Scherer, of Bradenton, FL. sister/brother in law; Barbara L. (Wilbur) Roberts, of Eldred, Pa. and brother; Alan E. Burdick Bradenton, FL.

He is also survived by his five grandchildren; Stephanie M. Stivers, of Sarasota, Fl. Julie Beth Stivers, David M. Stivers, Rylen M. Burdick, and Walker L. Burdick, all of Bradenton, Fl.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday June 7th, 2020 from 2:00 -3:30 pm with Pastor Steve Gibson memorializing at 3:30 pm at Shannon Funeral Homes Westview Chapel. A Celebration of Life will also be held in Smethport PA - Date & Time TBD  (mid summer 2020)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or Tidewell Hospice
