Jeanne Shirley Baker

Jeanne Shirley Baker, 87 of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at her residence.

Jeanne was born on November 21, 1927 in Erma, New Jersey to the late Earl Edwin and Elizabeth Adaline (McNeill) Hoover. She was the former owner of Marlyn Manor Beauty Salon for over 15 years, and Gateway Diner for over 10 years in Rio Grande, New Jersey.  Jeanne was of the Methodist faith.

She moved to Bradenton coming from New Jersey.

Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Earl L. Baker, Jr. in December of 1999 and is survived by five dear children; Howard J. Riley and his wife, Janice of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Clarence F. Lear III and his wife Karen of Cape May, New Jersey, Heidi N. Vannaman of Erma, New Jersey, Dana M. Lear and his wife Marina of Houston, Texas, Ian E. Lear Sr. and his wife Michele of Bradenton, Florida, one step-son, Ronald Baker and his wife Elaine Woods of South Carolina, one sister, Lillian Baldwin of Erma, New Jersey, twelve precious grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street West, Bradenton, with a celebration of Jeanne’s life to follow at 11 A.M. Private interment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to TideWell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238 in her memory.
