Jeanne Marie Kinsella Jenner, aged 88, died peaceably in her home in Bradenton, Florida on January 18, 2016. Jeanne was born in Buffalo, NY on May 20, 1927 to Edward “Lyle” and Marion Devine Kinsella. She was a 1945 graduate of South Park High School and attended the Mount Mercy School of Nursing.
Jeanne married the love of her life, Dr. Gordon Jenner, on March 1, 1948. They moved to Hamburg, New York in 1949 with Gordon running a dental practice and Jeanne raising the couple’s four children: Susanne (Jerry) Thomas of Ojochal, Costa Rica; Sarah Mulroney of Sarasota, Florida, Laura Jenner of Churchton, Maryland; and Gordon Jenner, Jr. of Plano, Texas. Following Gordon’s retirement from dentistry in 1985 the couple moved to Bradenton Florida where they spent their remaining years pursuing their passions of buying and selling antiques, summering in Vermont, traveling the world, and spending time with their family and friends.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Joan (James) Mahoney of Depew, New York. In addition to her children, she is survived by her brother, Edward L. “Ted” (Judy) Kinsella of West Seneca, New York and grandchildren Matthew Mulroney of Baltimore, Maryland; Megan (Shane) Jenkins of Denver, Colorado; Andrew (Kristy) Fleming of Los Angeles, California; Mary (Matthew) Savage of Seminole, Texas; and Gordon Jenner III of San Marcos, Texas. Recently Jeanne was blessed with two beautiful great-grandchildren who gave her immeasurable joy in the last months of her life: Leah Sue Fleming and Aida Jeanne Jenkins (“the rhinestones in my tiara”).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeanne’s memory by contacting Tidewell Hospice at www.givetotidewell.org or by calling (941)552.7597. The family plans to hold a memorial celebration of her life at a future date.
Jeanne and Gordon will be interned at the Sarasota Veteran’s National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
