Jean R. Meinhardt, 92, Bradenton, passed away March 31, 2016.
Jean was born on August 17, 1923 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Adeline (Rog) Konopka. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2791 of Tinley Park, IL.
She moved to Bradenton in 1984 coming from Tinley Park, IL. Locally she was a volunteer with the American Red Cross, Jessie P. Miller Elementary School working in the Clinic where they called her an angel, and the Knights of Columbus in Bradenton. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church where she served as an Usher, member of the Catholic Women's Association and the Widow and Widowers Group. Jean was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter in 2003, a son, Kurt, one sister, Eleanor, and three brothers, Roman, Ray and Stanley. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Doreen J. (David) Jessen of Ann Arbor, MI, Lynn M. (Chris) Romine of Bradenton, FL; two grandchildren; Lea (Chris) Donoghue, Dana (Mike Strauss) Jessen, and many extended family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Ss. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, 2850 75th St. W., Bradenton with inurnment to follow in the memorial garden.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to your favorite charity in her memory.
