Janice Hartshorn

January 11, 1951 — March 31, 2016

Janice (Habeski) Hartshorn wife of David Hartshorn, of Parrish, Florida passed away suddenly at her home on March 31, 2016. Born and raised in Bristol, CT, Jan was a 1969 graduate of Bristol Eastern High School, and worked in Human Resources at Quality Coils, Inc. for 32 years. She and David retired to Florida in 2000. Married in 1972, Jan and David created a family which includes 2 sons Eric J. Hartshorn and his wife Tracy of Massachusetts and Kevin J. Hartshorn of Berlin, CT. She will also be missed by her two grandsons, Luke and Isaac Hartshorn, who always looked forward to the wonderful toys and books from Grammy in the mail. Jan's very special family friends Josh, Nikki and their children Mea, Jakob and Cory Adkins from Bradenton, FL will always remember her kindness and generosity. Jan also leaves behind her dear brother Robert Habeski and his wife Josephine of Vermont as well as her dear sister Carol Easler of South Carolina. Jan will also be missed greatly by her aunts, Bert Biondi and Jean Hartshorn of CT., and many cousins, nieces and nephews including Al and Jane Goodwin and Karen Habeski of Bristol, CT. Jan and David were members of the West Coast Church in Parrish, FL. where Jan met many wonderful friends including Jeri Foley, June Granger, Lee Wood, Linda Heizinga, and especially Autumn White who was without question one her most beloved friends. Jan also volunteered at the Parrish United Methodist Thrift Cottage, where she met and became good friends with other volunteers, including Phyliss and Karen. Helen MacLaren was like family, and brought Jan a great amount of joy. Jan loved these friends dearly and appreciated greatly the tremendous help with her medical issues. A celebration of Jan's life was held on April 4, 2016 at the West Coast Church in Parrish, FL, officiated by Pastors Rudy Rudisell and Crawford Mizell. David would like to thank all those who helped him and the family through this time with food donations, phone calls and prayers. Special thanks to Eric, Tracy and Kevin Hartshorn for handling all the details and questions. Also great thanks to Leo, Ross and Nikki Adkins for their loving support as always.
