Jane Riley, 96, Bradenton, passed away Sept. 28, 2015

She was born Feb. 12, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Clatus and Jeanette (Dodge) Nelson. And moved to Manatee County in 1971 where she settled on Anna Maria, and then in the mid 1990’s moved to Bradenton.

Jane was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church on Holmes Beach, and was active in the Rosary Society and a past member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

She was predeceased by her husband Dr. William P. Riley M.D., daughter, Anne Marie Riley, two brothers, and three sisters, and is survived by her son, Peter (Valerie) Riley, daughter, Jane (Alan) McPherson all of Bradenton, three grandchildren; Jeffrey Wilkinson of Bradenton, Amanda McClure and Riley Vandecar of Asheville, NC, five great-grandchildren; Dane and Hunter Wilkinson, Mariah & Mycal McClure, and Myles Vandecar, and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 246 South Harbor Drive, Holmes Beach, with interment to follow at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant House of Ft. Lauderdale, 733 Breakers Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL   33304 in her memory.
