Jane Frances Lawler Atkins:  An Obituary

Jane Frances Lawler Atkins, 89, Bradenton, FL, passed away August 18, 2021.  Jane was born September 21, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Gerald Alva and Margaret (Cunningham) Lawler.

Jane married Jesse E. Atkins, Jr. (passed July 5, 2015) in 1956, was a homemaker, raised four boys, worked for the phone company for 16 years until moving from Dumfries, VA to Florida in 1987.  She worked at Barnett Bank and then Bealls Dept. Stores until her retirement. She was a member to Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Lakewood Ranch and the Elks Club.

Jane was predeceased by her three older brothers and two older sisters and is survived by four sons and seven grandchildren; Jay (Terry) Atkins of Bradenton, FL (children: Patrick, Michael & Rory); Joseph H. Atkins of Fairfax, VA (children: Megan, Riley & Tallula); John V. Atkins of Washington, D.C.; James M., Sr. (Lori) Atkins of San Antonio, TX (child: James M., Jr.).

Private family services will be held at a later date and time.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Youth Group in her memory.
