James Richard Reed

James Richard Reed, 68 of Bradenton, passed away April 11, 2016 at the TideWell Hospice House in Bradenton.

James was born on July 4, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to the late William Francis and Margaret A. (Snyder) Reed. He was reared in Ohio and moved to Bradenton over 40 years ago coming from Fairlawn, Ohio.

Locally James was the former owner of TLC Transport for several years. He was also a member and past-president of the Manatee 100 Club and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Lee Reed of Bradenton, one step-son, James Carl Anderson of Pennellville, New York, one brother William Francis Reed II and his wife Wanda of Port Charlotte, Florida, and many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of James’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Glass Chapel at the Skyway Memorial Gardens, 5200 U.S. Highway 19 North, Palmetto, Florida with the Pastor Pilgrim Benham officiating. Inurnment will follow at Skyway Memorial Gardens.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to TideWell Hospice Inc. in his memory.
