Ivan Marion

December 2, 1921 — February 10, 2017

Ivan Marion, 95 of Bradenton, Florida formerly of Ellenton, Florida, passed away at his residence on February 10, 2017.

Ivan was born on December 2, 1921 in Solon, New York to the late Lester and Nita (Hall) Marion. He served his country faithfully by serving with the United States Army during World War II.

Following his military service he worked as an Electrician in the Dryden, New York area. While living in Dryden he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dryden, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8158 in Dryden, and the Electrical Workers Union in New York.

Ivan and his beloved wife Eleanor would later on after his retirement in 1986 become winter residents of Ellenton, Florida, and in 1992 actually moved and became permanent residents of Ellenton until 2014 when he moved to the Westminster Shores Retirement Community in Bradenton where he lived until his passing. Locally in Florida he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor in June of 2012, a son, James in February of 2015 a brother Willis Marion in November of 2014, and a sister Irene DeOrsey in June of 2011. Ivan is survived by his loving daughter, Connie Rejman of Venice, New York, a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Marion of Grahamsville, New York, two sisters; Lois Fox of Dryden, New York, Shirley Dickens of Venice, Florida and Newfield, New York, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, and many extended family members and friends in Florida and New York.

A service for Ivan will be held in the Spring where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at the Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden, New York under the direction of the Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to either the First Presbyterian Church, 1402 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida, 34205 or to First Presbyterian Church, 6 North Street, Dryden, New York,   13053 in his memory.
