Harry R. Sheets, 78, of Bradenton, FL, passed away September 29, 2023.
Harry was born to George Sheets and Virginia Bradt (Fox) in Rochester, NY, on June 15, 1945. He graduated from Red Jacket
Central High School, in Shortsville, NY, in 1963. After graduating, he joined the US Army and served in
the 82 nd airborne from 1963-1965.
Harry was always a hard worker. He worked on his Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of
Rochester while working at the Lehigh Valley Railroad and Mobil Chemical. He started as an operator
and, once he had his degree, rose to the position of designing and implementing plastics machinery for
major corporations. In 2012, he retired as a Regional Engineering Manager and started his own
engineering consulting firm, which he operated until his death. His consulting work brought him to many
different parts of the US and the world. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, Nascar, traveling to
Las Vegas, and rooting for the Miami Dolphins and Boston Red Sox. He regularly volunteered with
various veterans’ organizations, and in the last year became very involved with a food pantry associated
with his local Catholic Church.
Harry is survived by his four children, Christine, William, Thomas, and Catherine; sisters, Marilyn Farley
and Dianne Warner; and brother, Theron Bradt. Harry was predeceased by his brother Charles Sheets.
Harry was buried on October 10, 2023, with military honors at Sarasota National Cemetery in Florida.

A Celebration of Life will occur in his hometown of Shortsville, NY, at a future date.
