Harry Foster Harris, 90, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on May 9, 2024, with his loving wife Melinda by his side, after a seven-year long fight with
dementia.
Harry was born on January 26, 1934, in Arlington, Virginia, graduated from Washington Lee High School and entered the Army shortly after, serving proudly during the
Korean War. Throughout his many working years, Harry was an innovative thinker and had a charming charismatic personality that was shown in the years of service as a proud member of the Board with NOVEC and the Board of Lancaster Condominiums where he will not be forgotten.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife, Melinda Ibrahim Harris, sharing 29 wonderful years together. Harry is also survived by his two daughters, Annette Victoria (Shipe) and Julie Elizabeth (Hilario) and son James Leonard Harris, all of Virginia; five grandsons and three granddaughters, all of whom he loved greatly.
Harry was predeceased by his parents, James Robert and Donna Elizabeth Harris.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
