Harold Richard Hayworth

Harold Richard Hayworth passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at his home in Mechanicsburg. Rich was born July 6, 1926, near Bradenton, Florida.

He is survived by his son Gary Hayworth (Teresa); grandson, Ryan Hayworth (Kara); granddaughter, Cindy Devine (Tony); great-grandsons Ephraim and Jayden Devine and Trevor Hayworth;  and great-granddaughters Larissa and Kate Hayworth all of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister Esther Bray of Manatee County, FL. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 58 years, Lois (Bowie) Hayworth and by his second wife of 9 years, Marjorie (Norris) Hayworth; parents Harold and Lorena (Hutches) Hayworth; sister Ruth Hayworth; brother Carl Hayworth.

Rich held a bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College and a master’s degree from George Washington University. Rich was also a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington D.C. His career was with the Department of Defense in the Pentagon as an Intelligence Operations Specialist for the Defense Intelligence Agency where he was a leading authority on worldwide aircraft industries. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mechanicsburg. Rich served in the US Navy during WWII as an aviation ordanaceman.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 20, 2021, at First United Methodist Church, 135 West Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, where there will be a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Interment will take place at Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton, FL, at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 21, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
