GARY LEE THOMPSON

Age 65, of Columbia SC, formerly of Cheshire CT,  died suddenly on February 7, 2015 of an aneurysm, while vacationing in Florida.

Gary was born in Wisconsin, moved to Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and graduated from Bucknell University in 1972.  After graduation he moved to Connecticut where he owned several successful retail stores.  In 1998 he and his wife, Jean, retired to Columbia, SC.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Fred and Arlene Thompson of Middlebury, Ct.  He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Jean Thompson, his sister Kristen Thompson of Tucson, AZ, four children, Jim Procanik, of Phuket, Thailand, Jerry Procanik of Los Angeles, CA, Stephanie Pawuk, of Tampa, Florida, and William Procanik, of Meriden, Ct.  He also, has 10 grandchildren.

He was a wonderful father, mentor, and leader, and will be missed beyond words.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
