Frederick Joseph Benson Jr

February 28, 1952 — March 4, 2020

Fred J. Benson Jr.
A robust life well lived began in Columbus, Ohio during February of 1952, ended peacefully at his home in Bradenton, Florida in March of 2020.

Fred attended Westerville High, and had a short but memorable time at the Ohio State University. A loyal and passionate Buckeyes fan, and never at a loss for words, Fred spoke passionately about politics, NASCAR, football, life, faith, classic rock music, movies and history. Fred treated everyone he met as an old friend, and constantly let them know how he loved and appreciated them. Fred always enjoyed seeing the country from the open road, both as a truck driver, and a leisurely traveler. He would drive many hours for a good meal or to visit with those he cared so much about. His life’s work was as a commercial electrician, taking pride in wiring massive construction sites across the country. Always willing to lend his time and talents, Fred was also happy to help with projects in the home of a loved one. Fred wore his enthusiasm on his sleeve, for all of the experiences in life. His mottos included “Do something, even if it’s wrong.” And simply, “Live life.”

Fred is survived by his loving wife: Jeanne Benson
his Parents: Fred Benson Sr., Patricia Benson Vorhees (passed)
his Siblings: Steve(passed), Linda(passed), David, Don & 5 nieces and nephews
his Son: Chris Hamilton of Pacifica, California & his family Kristen, Nathan and Sophia
his Stepsons: Daniel Stagner of Berkley, Michigan & his family: Jacqueline, Lenora and Mirella.
and Mathew Stagner of Des Moines, Iowa & his family: Molly, Finn, Rory and Willa.
